WHAT IS THE TOUR DE WALKSHIRE?

This spring it’s time for a new challenge. Welcome to Yorkshire and Yorkshire Cancer Research have teamed up to bring you the Tour de Walkshire.

You may be a lifelong runner, have taken up daily walks during the past year or you’re just itching to get back on your bike. However you choose to move, we would love you to help raise vital funds for life-changing cancer research in our beautiful region.

With Tour de Yorkshire postponed until 2022, it’s over to you as you walk, cycle or run the Tour de Walkshire. Set yourself a personal challenge, try a one-off distance or collect your miles throughout the month of May. You can take your steps in the park or travel to enjoy Yorkshire’s breathtaking scenery. To add a little healthy competition, challenge a friend to get involved. Take part in a group or as a family, perhaps remembering someone you love, all contributing towards your chosen distance.

This May, it’s all about the Tour de Walkshire – so choose your distance then go the distance to save lives in Yorkshire.

SAVING LIVES IN YORKSHIRE

Yorkshire is big and beautiful and there is so much to celebrate about the wonderful place where we live. However, more people in our region are likely to have their lives cut short by cancer than almost anywhere else in England. Yorkshire Cancer Research is dedicated to changing this by funding pioneering research to save lives here in Yorkshire, in your town, your city and your community.

By taking part in the Tour de Walkshire, you will be doing the essential work of keeping yourself fit and you will also be helping others – those at high risk of cancer or undergoing treatment. Your miles will make a difference.
