Here's why I'm taking part in Challenge90

1 in 2 people will experience cancer in their lifetime, with more people in Yorkshire likely to have their lives cut short by cancer than almost anywhere else in England. Up to thirteen cancers can be prevented by being more fit and active, and through our pioneering research, exercise can also be as effective as other treatments once cancer has been diagnosed. There is no club that values fitness in the same way as Leeds United.

That’s why Yorkshire Cancer Research and Leeds United have launched Challenge90 – a weekly 90-minute fitness challenge, just the length of a football match. We're aiming to collectively reach 100,000 minutes of exercise over the course of this season, so that as a community, we can save more lives in Yorkshire.

My Updates

Season over

Tuesday 24th May
Well, the seasons finished, so I guess this challenge as well. Checked my figures and managed to average over 90 mins a day. Sorry didn’t raise a lot of money for this challenge, but with a few raffle tickets along the way it made it a bit more. And to top it all off, great win on Sunday to stay up. MOT!

Hi anyone looking. Feel a bit of a fraud doing 90 mins a week challenge as not a challenge at all, but hoping to try and average 90 mins a day, but need to get calculator out! But great challenge today, climbed to top of the Wales (aka Snowdon). More so for partner tho, who had to be airlifted off nearby mountain in Oct having slipped and shattered shoulder socket ball, so well done Trina.

Challenge still going then!

Wednesday 19th Jan
Didn’t realise challenge still on, and til end of football season I presume? So a few activities to add if I can remember them, tho will be quite a few shorter quick walks I can’t! So guess I’ll order a new t shirt and carry on again, cheers!

Hi

Sunday 26th Dec
Hi all. Happy Xmas everyone. Not sure how long this challenge on for, but might as well continue to end of year now. Just done traditional Boxing Day walk from a Ilkley, over moors to Addinghsm (& pub)! Not chased up sponsors this time, as did that for Tour de Walkshire and don’t want to pester all, but just thought I’d do it for self (and chance to win T-shirt I think?). And with mixture of cancer support, Yorkshire, and Leeds United, all worth supporting in whatever form! MOT. Cheers
