Exercise and cancer

Yorkshire Cancer Research has been exploring the impact of exercise on cancer by funding a range of pioneering research and projects across the region.

Each year in Yorkshire, 164 new cases of cancer are linked to a lack of regular exercise – and many more cancers can occur by not maintaining a healthy weight.

And for those living with cancer, there is emerging evidence that shows being physically active can improve treatment outcomes, have a positive impact on survival rates and reduce the risk of the cancer coming back.
