We Walk for Yorkshire 2025
This May I'm joining people across Yorkshire who are coming together to raise money for vital research that will help save lives in Yorkshire.
Every 17 minutes, someone in Yorkshire is told they have cancer. People are more likely to be diagnosed with cancer in Yorkshire than in most other parts of England and, tragically, too many people die.
This May, I would like to help change this, by taking part in We Walk for Yorkshire to raise money for Yorkshire Cancer Research. Thanks to supporters, the charity funds vital research and pioneers innovative new services for people with cancer.
Every step counts and every pound I am able to raise will help save lives in Yorkshire.

Week 2 update!
Thursday 15th May I’ve felt quite unwell several days this week, so I’m way behind my target. Feeling a bit disheartened, but will keep trying my best. Share
First week update!
Thursday 8th MayThis week I managed 13 miles for We Walk For Yorkshire.
I set my target at 62 miles for the month, an average of 2 miles per day, so this week I just narrowly missed hitting that.
2 miles per day would usually be easily achievable for me, but post-surgery I am struggling a lot with muscle aches and cramps, tiredness, and feeling unwell, so at the moment this goal pushes me to my limit!
Chris (and Bonnie 🐾) is a very supportive walking buddy, letting me set the pace and being vigilant about when I’m trying to do too much ❤️
I’ll keep giving this challenge my best! Good luck to everyone else who is joining in!
