Step Out For Yorkshire

I’m stepping out for Yorkshire Cancer Research this May. The challenge I have set myself is Everest with a Scafell Pike Cherry on top 33,000 ft, the equivalent of 150 miles, and it's all to raise money for life-saving cancer research in Yorkshire.

My Activity Tracking

My target 150 mi

My miles are saving lives. I’m stepping out this May to show my support for people affected by cancer in Yorkshire.

1 in 2 people will experience cancer in their lifetime. Yorkshire Cancer Research is an independent cancer charity funding pioneering research to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer in the region.

I will be  running up and down large hills (and mountains) as my challenge.  The aim will be to top over 33,000ft (Everest with Scafell Pike on top) by the end of the month.

33,000 being the number of people diagnosed with Cancer in Yorkshire each year.

Please support my efforts and help more people in Yorkshire survive cancer.

I will be part of team #AWRC

My Updates

Back on the hills

Friday 27th May
So finally getting past Covid saw me complete the Old County Tops Fell Race last weekend, 36 miles and 11,500 ft, 11 hours 20 minutes of mountain and bog, so getting moving on the Everest target again.
Current Covid affected climbing for the month so far is 21,441 ft, so somehow it might still be on, just!

Back in the hills

Thursday 12th May
So Covid is still hanging around a little, but I'm back in the hills, sadly only ticked off 974ft of my 30,000ft vertical challenge, but confident I can ramp up a little.  Saturday will hopefully yield a few more thousand feet.

What a start

Friday 6th May
Well it was blimmin' nice of folk to sponsor me, sadly I've not run a step due to coming down with Covid on Monday. Fear not, the months of heavy training in the bag will se me back and I'll be trying to earn some of that sponsorship with a test run on Sunday.

Thank you to my Sponsors
