We Walk for Yorkshire 2024

This May I'm joining people across Yorkshire who are coming together to walk 31,000 miles to raise money for vital research which will help save lives in Yorkshire.

31,000 is the number of people who are diagnosed with cancer every year in Yorkshire.

People are more likely to be diagnosed with cancer in Yorkshire than in most other parts of England and, tragically, too many people die. Yorkshire Cancer Research exists to change this. With the help of people across the region, the charity funds vital research and pioneers innovative new services for people with cancer.

Every step counts, and every pound I am able to raise will help save lives in Yorkshire.

Friday 17th May
Nice walk to Otterburn and outskirts of Airton.

Weathers turned

Tuesday 14th May
Wet, wet, wet today. Carried on but with waterproof trousers on. Some enjoyable
walks today despite the rain.

Garmin 300k steps badge

Monday 13th May
This is for May 2024. Earned AM of 13/05/2024. I am only recording walking activity from Garmin on this page so slightly lower activity miles than the miles that 300k steps would be. I wanted my mile count to be out in the open doing an actual activity walk.

Beautiful flowers

Saturday 11th May
Walking across a field footpath and saw these.

Weather still great

Saturday 11th May
Dawn walk on 11/05/2024 and the hot air balloon was out and about

Enjoying the weather 10052024

Start point and explain

Wednesday 24th Apr
I have been walking for fitness for 12 months now. So want to try and do a charity fundraiser that was organised by Yorkshire Cancer Research. This is an organisation that I have supported for a few years. Also in support of my dear wife Marion who was diagnosed with breast cancer and is now 2 year remission.
