We Walk for Yorkshire 2024

This May I'm joining people across Yorkshire who are coming together to walk 31,000 miles to raise money for vital research which will help save lives in Yorkshire.

31,000 is the number of people who are diagnosed with cancer every year in Yorkshire.

People are more likely to be diagnosed with cancer in Yorkshire than in most other parts of England and, tragically, too many people die. Yorkshire Cancer Research exists to change this. With the help of people across the region, the charity funds vital research and pioneers innovative new services for people with cancer.

Every step counts, and every pound I am able to raise will help save lives in Yorkshire.

A massive Thank you

Sunday 16th Jun
A final massive "Thank You" to everyone who kindly donated to Sienna and I in support of our We Walk for Yorkshire Challenge in May for Yorkshire Cancer Research.

We are delighted to have raised £883 together (including Gift Aid) for this amazing cause to go towards research.

Definitely feeling the benefits of moving more to my health and well being and plan to build on this. I am really enjoying being out and about in the beautiful area we are lucky enough to live.

Thank you again so much for your support.🤗 It really means a lot!

Until next year....

Target hit!!

Saturday 1st Jun
Thank you so much to everyone who has donated to my We Walk for Yorkshire challenge. So delighted that my personal challenge has contributed to the combined total raised of nearly £52,000 (so far!) and 32,200 miles walked!
With a couple of miles clocked up shopping and an evening village walk in the sunshine I hit my 100 miles target!
There is still time to donate to this brilliant cause if you feel able to do so🙏
Thank you again for your support and kind messages. It really means a lot! 😊

Day 30....

Thursday 30th May
A shorter walk this evening battling the elements to clock up a couple more miles.
Thank you to all of you who have donated in support of my walking Challenge. I am really chuffed to have raised so much to support this amazing cause.
The Charity funds "researchers and cancer experts who pioneer early diagnosis and discover new and better treatments for people with cancer. These life-giving medical breakthroughs are helping more people survive cancer"

Every little amount really does help! 😊
If you feel able to support me in my challenge with a small donation, I would be  delighted! 🙏
Let's give it one last push before the month ends!!
Thank you so much 😀

The final 5 days.....

Monday 27th May
Just into the final 5 days to hit my 100 miles in May Challenge.
The weather didn't stop us getting out and about over the weekend, dodging the showers on a wet Dalby Forest walk through the trees.
It really is good for health and well being, getting out in the fresh air.
If you feel able to make a donation, however small, to this amazing cause for research into cancer, that would be great.😃
Thank you 😊

Day 23

Thursday 23rd May
Thank you all for your support for my We Walk for Yorkshire Challenge this May.
I have clocked up the steps today as I push towards my target of 100 miles by next Friday. Three walks totalling 6 miles across the day and the rain even held off!
If you feel able to support me with a small donation to this amazing cause I would be really grateful.
Here's to the final week!
Thank you again 😃

Day 19

Monday 20th May
A few days of lovely weather so I have clocked up a few more miles, to reach over the half way point.
Ellerburn and back first thing on Friday and a village circuit on Friday evening, a lovely shopping day with a friend on Saturday, upping the steps between cafes and shops and a family walk at the beautiful Dalby Forest this afternoon to work off a delicious Sunday lunch out. So lovely to have had some sunshine to enjoy!
If you feel able to donate a small amount to Yorkshire Cancer Research in support of my We Walk for Yorkshire Challenge, I really would be grateful.
Only by continued research into cancer can we fight it!
Every little helps 😃
Thank you

Day 5

Sunday 5th May
A gentle start to the challenge with 14 miles so far with local walks. Further afield today to Bempton Cliffs in the sunshine. Spotted a puffin!
If you feel able to donate a small amount in support of this amazing cause it would really be appreciated, thank you. 😊
