We Walk for Yorkshire 2024

This May I'm joining people across Yorkshire who are coming together to walk 31,000 miles to raise money for vital research which will help save lives in Yorkshire.

31,000 is the number of people who are diagnosed with cancer every year in Yorkshire.

People are more likely to be diagnosed with cancer in Yorkshire than in most other parts of England and, tragically, too many people die. Yorkshire Cancer Research exists to change this. With the help of people across the region, the charity funds vital research and pioneers innovative new services for people with cancer.

Every step counts, and every pound I am able to raise will help save lives in Yorkshire.

Naturist Walk for a Great Cause

Sunday 19th May
Today I, along with a group of British Naturism members, completed a lovely naked walk along the Minster Way and other public walking paths in the countryside surrounding Scorborough near to Beverley. I have never participated in a group naked activity before today but fundraising sometimes needs a little edge to the challenge and this was such fun on a beautiful sunny day.

Almost There.....

Friday 17th May
Despite now having to wear a knee brace I have been accumulating the miles and have just 5 more to go to meet my 50 mile target and those last miles are going to be as a participant in an event organised by British Naturism. I've never participated in an organised nude activity before but it's all for a great cause and already folk have added to my fundraising because of it. Should be fun so now I'm hoping Sunday is sunny and dry )).

Great Walking Companion

Monday 13th May
On more than one occasion I have been fortunate to be accompanied on my walks by my friend Meg who is also participating in the fundraising challenge. Meg is a great walking companion, full of life and wonderful stories, always fun to be out walking with her followed by a brief stop at a local inn for refreshments.
