We Walk for Yorkshire 2024

This May, Rhi and I are joining people across Yorkshire to walk 31,000 miles to raise money for vital research which will help save lives in Yorkshire.

31,000 is the number of people who are diagnosed with cancer every year in Yorkshire.

People are more likely to be diagnosed with cancer in Yorkshire than in most other parts of England. Yorkshire Cancer Research exists to change this. With the help of people across the region, the charity funds vital research and pioneers innovative new services for people with cancer.

To make it easier to track, we're each aiming to walk 310,000 steps in May (roughly 150 miles). This averages out at 10,000 steps a day, which is considerably more than I do on an average day – especially when working from home.

It's going to be a big challenge for us, but we're excited to be taking part and hopefully raising some money for a good cause.

Multiple people in my life have been directly impacted by cancer, and every pound we can raise will help to make a difference and save lives in Yorkshire.
