Day 1/31

Day one and over 12,000 steps done! We went for a walk up to Yeadon Tarn on our lunch break, then walked to the supermarket instead of driving after work 💪🏻

We Walk for Yorkshire 2024

This May, Joe and I are joining people across Yorkshire who are coming together to walk 31,000 miles to raise money for vital research which will help save lives in Yorkshire.

31,000 is the number of people who are diagnosed with cancer every year in Yorkshire.

Did you know people are more likely to be diagnosed with cancer in Yorkshire than in most other parts of England? And, tragically, too many people die. Yorkshire Cancer Research exists to change this. With the help of people across the region, the charity funds vital research and pioneers innovative new services for people with cancer.

Every step counts, and every pound we are able to raise will help save lives in Yorkshire.

To make it easier to track, we're each aiming to walk 310,000 steps in May (roughly 150 miles). This averages out at 10,000 steps a day, which is a massive number for two people who average 5,000 steps on a REALLY good day...

It's going to be a big challenge for us, but we're excited to be taking part and hopefully raising some money for a good cause 🫡
