Let's walk 35,000 miles in May
This May, we’re walking 35,000 to fund life-saving cancer research - one mile for every person told they have cancer in Yorkshire each year.
The more workplace teams that take part, the more life-saving miles we can clock. Every step counts, so let’s walk Yorkshire, together.

Why Beverley Building Society walked for Yorkshire.
Why take part?
Taking part boosts team building, wellbeing and positive public outreach at the same time as raising vital funds for cancer research.
How can we take part?
- A single event on one day with a set distance or fundraising target
- Small, regular ‘Walk and talk’ meetings or lunchtime wellbeing walks.
- Set a collective team goal to which colleagues add their miles and funds throughout the month
Getting started in three simple steps
1. Colleagues assemble
Sign up to the event. Set up a new team for your workplace or join an existing one and get your colleagues on board.
2. Plan your challenge
Walk your way, whether it's one big walk together, smaller walks in groups or walks in your own time. Remember to add your distance. Every mile makes an impact.
3. Start fundraising
The funds you raise will help save lives. Ask your networks to support you - your page shows how much of a researcher's time your donations could fund.
