We Walk for Yorkshire 2025

This May I'm joining people across Yorkshire who are coming together to raise money for vital research that will help save lives in Yorkshire.

I aim to walk a total of 527,000 steps across the month of May. Why this number? Well, this equates to an average of 17,000 steps a day and every 17 minutes, someone in Yorkshire is told they have cancer. 

People are more likely to be diagnosed with cancer in Yorkshire than in most other parts of England and this May, I would like to help change this. 

I hope you will join me in getting out in the fresh air and enjoying our beautiful Yorkshire countryside. Every step counts and every pound I am able to raise will help save lives in Yorkshire.

It was a close one, but pulled it out of the bag with a big last day to hit an average of 17,075 steps a day across the month of May. 👣
38,428 steps on a single day was my largest number, which surprisingly was not the half marathon day and was actually when I was on holiday 😅 Thanks so much to everyone who has supported me through words of encouragement and/or donations over the past month, there is still time to donate if you would like to 😁 112 miles in total, already thinking about next year's challenge...any ideas? 

Leeds Half Marathon

In incredibly hot and hilly conditions (probably shouldn't have stuck to my nice flat training routes in York!) I completed my first official half marathon race! To say it was tough was an understatement and can't quite bring myself to say I enjoyed it, but there's still time! 

I'm a little bit behind my mileage target at the half way point of the We Walk For Yorkshire challenge but with plenty of tennis matches and dog walks planned, I'll get there...otherwise I'll be doing another half marathon earlier than planned 😂
